Charitable organizations play an important role in communities across Canada. Whether they’re providing educational opportunities, supporting animal welfare initiatives, advancing healthcare or helping people overcome challenges, charities make a meaningful difference in countless lives. Building awareness and strengthening connections with supporters are important parts of that work, and promotional products for charities support those efforts. Read how four organizations each used a 4imprint one by one® grant to engage supporters, raise awareness and advance their causes.

Providing compassionate animal care

Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS) is one of Canada’s largest nonprofit no-kill animal service organizations. Based in British Columbia, the organization operates a cat sanctuary, adoption centre and animal hospital. It also runs three thrift stores to fund its work addressing the root causes of animal homelessness through education, community services and accessible veterinary care.

A one by one grant provided branded T-shirts for the more than 200 RAPS volunteers who support nearly every aspect of its operations. Distributed during Volunteer Appreciation Week, the nonprofit promotional items recognized the contributions of the dedicated team while helping raise awareness of the organization’s mission.

Promoting accessibility and inclusion

Society for Students with a Disability (SSD) is a student advocacy group at the University of Victoria that supports students who self-identify as having one or more disabilities. Through advocacy, events and one-on-one support, the organization helps them overcome barriers that can affect their academic, social and emotional well-being.

To raise awareness of its services, SSD received branded push-pop cubes that were distributed at campus events and student gatherings. The promotional products for charities helped start conversations with students, creating opportunities to share information about the organization’s resources and support programs.

Teaching safety through hands-on learning

Children’s Safety Village is an Ontario charity that helps young people build confidence and make informed decisions through interactive safety education. Through its child-scaled village and partnerships with local first responders, fire safety, street safety, emergency preparedness and other lessons are brought to life for 2,000 children each year.

A one by one® grant provided a retractable banner the organization uses at events and other appearances. Designed to be portable and eye-catching, it’s proven to be a conversation starter. One side of the banner features the brand logo and program information. The other side promotes the Children’s Safety Village capital campaign.

Supporting critical healthcare close to home

Red Deer Regional Health Foundation raises and distributes funds to support programs, services and the purchase of new medical equipment at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre in Alberta. Through fundraising initiatives and community support, the organization helps ensure residents across Central Alberta have access to high-quality healthcare close to home.

The organization received tubes of promotional lip balm that were distributed as volunteer thank-you gifts during preparations for the annual Festival of Trees fundraiser. The practical item showed appreciation for the hundreds of volunteers whose time and effort help make the event a success.
